The Shay Legacy Foundation is a not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors consisting of experienced professionals from the trucking industry, education, and community development sectors. We are committed to addressing the workforce shortage in the trucking industry by providing innovative training programs, state-of-the-art simulators, scholarships, and robust job placement support. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and a dedication to diversity and inclusion, the foundation aims to transform lives, strengthen the trucking industry, and contribute to the economic growth of New York.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TRUCK DRIVING SIMULATOR

Shay Legacy Foundation offers a cutting-edge simulator-based training program at events all over the state of New York to provide students with a safe and controlled environment for practicing driving skills and gaining experience handling various road conditions.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Working in collaboration with educators, industry professionals, and industry leaders, Shay Legacy Foundation has established several scholarship programs that cover tuition fees, and related expenses for selected individuals. interested in pursuing an education in this field.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Shay Legacy Foundation has implemented a Leadership Program that offers upcoming leaders in the industry the opportunity to develop tools to help them become more impactful leaders, and to network with their peers.

MENTORSHIP & ONGOING SUPPORT

“Trucking Trailblazers NY” is a comprehensive mentorship program designed to provide new truck drivers and technicians with the opportunity to learn from experienced veterans in the industry. The program aims to enhance safety, professionalism, and overall skill development in the trucking industry.

INDUSTRY WORKSHOP & EVENTS

Shay Legacy Foundation organizes workshops and networking events that bring together current and future industry professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.

WORKFORCE EXPANSION

Increase the number of individuals entering the trucking industry by providing effective resources and support, with a target of placing 300 new drivers and technicians in the industry within the first three years.

SKILLS ENHANCEMENT

Enhance the skills and employability of new and existing truck drivers through state-of-the-art training, including a truck driving simulator, comprehensive training, and ongoing professional development.

INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

Foster strong partnerships with trucking companies, associations, and governmental bodies to create a comprehensive ecosystem that supports workforce development.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Promote diversity and inclusion within the trucking industry by actively recruiting and supporting underrepresented groups, including women, veterans, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
